Monday 20 May 2024

Meet at 11am in front of Great St Mary’s Church, Senate House Hill, Cambridge

Stephen Hawking famously said "Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet."

Well, you should do the exact opposite if you don't want to miss numerous examples of quirky public art in Cambridge.

This gentle walking tour of approximately 2 to 3 miles, will cover a number of works from the very famous to the less well known and will include one or two Dinky Doors, brought to us by the people who said

"We firmly believe that dinky things, discovered unexpectedly, can deliver dollops of delight against the daily onslaught of miserable miserableness"

Jane Austen’s

Sense and Sensibility

Tolethorpe Hall Open Air Theatre

Saturday 20 July 2024 for 11.30am Performance

Every Summer 32,000 people attend the Stamford Shakespeare Company’s acclaimed season of plays at the Rutland Open Air Theatre at Tolethorpe near Stamford.

Performances take place on an open air stage set within an enchanting woodland glade.

Jane Austin tells the tale of the Dashwood Sisters and their contrasting approaches to life and love.

Although this is an open air theatre, no performance is ever cancelled due to inclement weather as there is a covered auditorium.  You may wish to bring a blanket if the weather is not so good to keep you warm during the performance.

You may wish to bring a picnic with you to enjoy after the performance.

There are a few steps to negotiate in the auditorium but I have asked for seats with as few steps as possible.   If you have any access requirements, please let us know on the booking form in order that the necessary arrangements can be made for you.

Coach pick up points:  Lode Depot 8.45am and Trumpington Park & Ride 9.30am.

Cost: Members £46.00 and Non Members £51.00

We are leaving Tolthorpe at 2.45pm
